Podcasts as a guest!
I might laugh or cry but the message is always the same:
You Matter. You Are Loved. It’s Fine.
Listen as I talk with various hosts about life, trauma, overcoming difficult times, and ways to accept the true you!
Eric is active within many social cultures, however, as you’ll learn in this podcast, Eric is simply a human-being traversing through life just like the rest of us. If you were to list the ‘titles’ Eric would have (take a deep breath) you’d say he is a US Air Force Airman, Firefighter, City Police Officer, Gay, Divorced and Remarried, Husband, Dog Dad, and Entrepreneur.
Being raised in a Christian non-denominational home at a young age navigating the self-identification process and coming to terms with being gay. He said he always knew he was different than the other boys in church but didn’t know why. He talks about how he came out…twice. He tells us how over the last decade he triumphed through divorce, went on back-to-back overseas military deployments, remarried, became a fulltime civilian police officer, and deployed with the US Air Force to support the response to COVID19.
Please follow us on Patreon for Doc Talks DX where we talk about trauma, stress and a possible diagnosis for Eric and the things that he copes with on a daily basis.
“Eric Norman, Police Officer, Firefighter, Member of the US Air Force, advocate for mental health and the LGBTQ+ community sits down and chats with Mara about his failed attempt to "come out" to his family, the trauma he endured growing up, how that led him into a doomed-to-fail marriage, working in the COVID unit in NYC, dealing with pain and surviving suicide. That was the longest sentence of all time, but it definitely represents the full range of topics discussed. Eric has overcome so much adversity and has a clear strategy of how to reclaim his life after every down. Incredible role model...”
